Should i file separately from my husband when he only receives social security and i made less than$8000 this past year?

I was going to receive$1700 before adding my husband's social security income, after adding his social security income we are receiving $290 , should we file separately?

I don't think so, but let me ask how much SS did he receive along with your 8K of earnings....any other income? dependents?
