My mother passed 11/09/17. I am the custodian of my 16 yr old sis. She gets death benefits. Can I claim her on my taxes or do I file my mother's taxes claiming my sister.

The executor of MOM's estate needs to file a final return for her and if the child lived with her until she passed she will claim the child one more time.   If your sister continues to live with you in 2018 then you will claim her next year.
