My investment advisor told me my 1099-B from TD Ameritrade was incorrect. She provided an Excel file with all the transactions. What should I submit?

You should get a corrected 1099-B. The totals you enter need to match what the IRS receives.

If you trust your financial advisor,

and your excel file shows the sell transactions with the same information and in the same manner as Form 8949,

you can print it and mail it to the IRS to satisfy the IRS requirements for the details.

When you use the mail-in election, you summarize all your activity on your e-Filed tax return by sales Category.

Put our name and SSN and tax year in a heading up top before you print it.
