My bank add my IRA transfer and MRS together and did not tak fed and state taxes, how should I separate these two with one 1099 R?

How to separate the IRA transfer and MRD from a single 1099R?

The Forms 1099-Rs you received are also sent to the IRS and you are required to report each 1099-R on your tax return separately and exactly how they are reported on the Form.

If the 1099-R is incorrect, you will need to contact the firm that issued the statement to it corrected.

What code is in box 7 on the 1099R?  I think you can just enter it.  After you enter the 1099R it will ask what you did with the money.  Say you rolled it over or moved it to another account and put in that amount.  And keep going it should also ask if  all or part of it was the RMD.  I'll page someone who knows a lot more, @dmertz

VolvoGirl is correct.   There is no difference between the portion that was RMD and the portion that was not RMD except that the portion that was RMD is ineligible for rollover, so there is no need or benefit for these amount to be reported separately.  When TurboTax asks, just indicate that some of the distribution was RMD and enter the amount of this distribution that was considered to be RMD and TurboTax will prevent you from reporting that amount as having been rolled over.  In fact, if you did not roll over any of the distributions aggregated on this Form 1099-R, it doesn't matter what answer you give when TurboTax asks how much of the amount on this Form 1099-R was RMD.
