my 5498 shows an RMD of $9,261, with a date of 12/31/25. why is this even on my year 2024 IRS form? Should I put this figure on the 2024 return?

Form 5498 is sent to you for information purposes only and is filed by your trustee with the IRS.

The RMD number is most probably your RMD for 2025 which must be distributed by 12/31/25.

You do not enter any numbers on form 5498 on your tax return.
