When you Transmit your Tax Return you are sending it to the IRS from there it will be in the pending status. It will usually stay in Pending status for 24-48 hours before coming back as Accepted or Rejected. If Accepted it just means everything was found correct and nothing else is needed from you. If it comes back as Rejected it means that you need to make the corrections listed, and resubmit.

Sounds like TurboTax has some issues with reporting terminology.

To move the document form Sender to Receiver, it must be TRANSMITTED.

In general, ACCEPTED means the document is now in the hands of the Receiver.

REJECTED means the document is still in the hands of the Sender.

In the context of e-File, the document is your tax return.
