If SSA withheld Federal income taxes from the refund, and that amount is not included in the SSA-1099, where do you enter that withheld tax amount?
If federal income tax was withheld and you are sure it is not included in the Form SSA-199 you can enter any additional federal income tax on your return as follows. Be sure to double check your figures and also to have the proof of those withholdings in your file. Be prepared for the IRS to request that proof.
This will allow both federal and state additional withholding not entered in any other location.
Thank you. That takes care of the Withholding tax. Now where do I report the amount of the Medicare Part B premium REFUND amount? The only place that I see is Schedule A, Line 2a, and entered as a negative amount.
