Yes, military retirement is taxable in Georgia, just like it is on the Federal return. They do not give any special deductions or subtractions on the income. I'm retired military and earned $11,274 in 2019 from my pension. According to Turbo Tax there is an exemption. There is a section labeled "Retirement Income Exempt by Federal Law or Treaty". Is that applicable to me?
No, Retirement Income Exempt by Federal Law or Treaty applies to pensions from foreign countries or foreign social security.
