In MN property tax, form M1PR, if you did a Trad. IRA contribution, it is added in twice. On line 3 & line 5. So, a $7500 IRA contribution adds $15,000 to my income

This is obviously a bug, but I can't figure out a way to report it to Intuit.  When calculating the income to base MN property tax refunds on, it adds in the IRA contribution on line 3 and again on line 5 (thru Schedule M1PR-A1).  So, if I do a $7500 Traditional IRA contribution, it adds $15,000 to my income.  Later on, it does subtract out most, if not all of one of these (line 9 subtracts up to $6500 for a "Retirement Account Subtraction").

Problem still exists.  I got around it by overriding the line on form M1PR-A1 and setting the amount to zero.  But I just updated the software and tried canceling the override -- it sets it back to $7500.

I called the phone number you suggested and reported it as a bug.

Any news on this?  We are having the same problem where it adds in it twice and then takes it out once.  Raising our income for the M1PR.  If you hear anything new let me know.

Thanks for reporting this.

They pretty much just said "Thanks for reporting it.".  I got around it by going into the form and overriding one of the times it was added in (I think it was the 2nd time) -- just replacing the amount with 0.

Good idea.  I tried just leaving it blank and it didn't work.  I'll try putting in a zero.
