We live in Kentucky and my husband withdrew from his pension plan and there were no KY taxes withheld. Do we not have to pay KY taxes on these

We live in KY and got a 1099R and there were not KY taxes withheld from these. One is a monthly retirement check and the other was a lump sum. Don't we have to pay state taxes on these.

Kentucky does not tax social security income.  Other forms of retirement income (pension income, 401(k) income or IRA income) are exempt up to a total of $31,110 per person.

I understand that put the total was 42,872 which is more than 41,110 per person just want to make sure that I do not get penalized

I would think you would need to pay tax on the excess over $41,110.  I am not sure why it doesn't show that.

I have put all the info in turbo tax and it does not show us to pay ky taxes on this so I am hoping that all is correct

TurboTax will  calculate it correctly if all information is entered correctly.  I just noticed you have the CD/Download edition so you can see your forms.  That is so helpful, much better than the online edition as you cannot check to see what the forms look like in the online edition.
