Box 2b checked on 1099R creates a non-taxable situation that is not correct.

Box 2a is empty.  This pension acct. is now in the hands of USPBGC.  I know what the correct number has been for the previous 8 yrs.  What is the correct action on my part?

If the box 2a is blank then leave it blank in the program then carefully answer all the follow up screens to determine the taxable portion using the Simplified Method which is probably what you have been using.
