Form 1099-R is for retirement distributions. If you have a separate savings, checking, brokerage account (not retirement account) where you earn interest then you can check with your bank if they sent you a Form 1099-INT. If they didn't but you know the interest amount then you can enter the interest without the form:
- Click on the "Search" on the top and type “1099-INT”
- Click on “Jump to 1099-INT”
- On the "Let's import your tax info" screen click "Enter a different way"
- Select "1099-INT"
- Select "Type it in myself"
- Enter the name of the bank for received from
- Enter the interest amount in box 1
To enter your Form 1099-R for the retirement distribution:
- Click on the "Search" on the top and type “1099-R”
- Click on “Jump to 1099-R”
