I'm doing my federal taxes on a W2, I've received a 1099R. Am I using the wrong document

Do you mean that you have a W-2 and a 1099R----or do you mean that you are trying to enter a 1099R in the place for a W-2? Do not enter your 1099R as a W-2.

To enter your retirement income, Go to Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA 401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
