I have a 1099 NEC with no state number listed. Will that be a problem?

No, the state number is not required as an entry in your 1099-NEC. If you have other state information boxes, and you need to enter a State ID simply use the federal EIN without any dashes and no letters.

A form 1099-NEC is assumed as self employment income. Follow the steps below to enter your form/income.

• In TurboTax Online/Mobile:
  1. Sign into your tax return > Select Search (upper right) > type 1099nec > click the 'See more' in the FAQ below
  2. Click 1099-NEC > Edit beside your form > Look at the selection you chose (TIN or SSN)
