I get a pension and claim my 3 grandchildren child tax credit every year but this year Does my pension not count as income because it says didn't earn enough

its not letting get the child tax credit but I did every other year only on pension

For tax year 2023 you must have earned income from work, either wages on a W-2 or net profit from self-employment, of at least $2,500 to be eligible for the child tax credit.

No.  Your pension does not count as earned income. This is why you are unable to claim the Child Tax Credit as one of the qualifications is to have earned income of at least $2,500 to get the credit.

Yes the rules went back to the old rules.  The last couple years you could get it without having earned income from wages.
