I did not take advantage of the 2008 first time home owner tax break. Am I still eligible to take it or is it too late?

I didn't take the tax break at the time because i was told i would have to repay it but now i would like to take it will repay it if i have to.

It's way to late. The date to amend a 2008 return ended on April 15, 2012.
