How to Correct Required Minimum Distribution Failures?

Found the mistake for 2023 on the 4th of Jan 2024. Have since made the needed distribution. How do I inform he IRS?

In actuality ... there is nothing you need to do since the IRS never has sent any notices on missed RMD that have been corrected by the taxpayer.  You will simply not have a distribution to report on the 2023 return. But you will have 2 RMD distributions to report on the 2024 return.
