How do I use turbotax for a IRA recharacterization?

I opened a Roth IRA in Dec, 2015. My IRA custodian transferred "in-kind" securities from my Traditional IRA to fund my newly created Roth IRA. The value of the newly created Roth IRA has decreased 15%.  I recharacterized ( trustee-to-trustee) the "in-kind" securities back to the original Traditional IRA in March, 2016. I received 1099-R from the custodian for the Traditional -> Roth which shows the $$ amount and reports it as taxable. How do I handle this with TurboTax? I don't expect any more forms from the trustee until after April 15th. Should I just delete the 1099-R form which reports the Traditional-to-ROTH? Or file an extension? Or what?

How do I use turbotax for a IRA recharacterization?

Sounds like a Traditional IRA to Roth conversion then recharactorized back to the original IRA.

Enter a 1099-R here:

Federal Taxes,
Wages & Income
I’ll choose what I work on (if that screen comes up),
Retirement Plans & Social Security,
IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R).

OR  Use the "Tools" menu (if online version under My Account) and
then "Search Topics" for "1099-R" which will take you to the same place.

The follow-up will ask if you moved the money to another retirement account, say yes, then say that it was converted to a Roth.   Then it will ask if you moved funds back to the Traditional IRA - say yes.

When you get the 1099-R entries (summary) screen, continue and keep going.  The interview will ask about non-deductible contributions and eventually ask for an explanation statement for the recharactorization.
