Look at your pay stubs and see if money is being withheld for social Security or FICA. Ask your employer if they are deducting for SS. Look at your W-2 and and see if anything is in box 4.
As xmasbaby0 stated, check your paystubs for social security, aka FICA tax, and Medicare tax withholding. If they appear then yes you are paying into the fund. Also check your W-2 if you received one, and check boxes 4 and 6 for social security and medicare tax withheld.
If you have your own business, you would pay in to social security and medicare on 1040 Form Schedule SE. SE stands for self-employment and for which you would pay into social security and medicare.
