How do I remove the Base Military Exclusion from Schedule 1 on the Georgia return? I have reviewed the personal questions, deleted the state return, and started over. This is for my MIL, who does not have military retirement income and is over the age of 62, but I cannot edit this information. Where did this come from?

Look at the Georgia Income and Retirement Worksheets.
Scroll down to the bottom of the worksheet. In the section Military Retirement Income Worksheet, is the Yes box checked for Received military retirement benefits and qualify for exclusion?
The Base Military Exclusion amount of $17,500 is a fixed number on the worksheet. If Line 1 under the Schedule 1 Military Retirement Income Exclusion does not have an amount then there can be no military exclusion.
I see that now. My MIL questioned me about it and I see it on the printed form, but it is not part of the calculation. Thank you for the clarification!
