How do you receive credit on 1040, Line 16b, for additional insurance premiums paid from monthly pension by Public Safety Officer?

Step by step confirms Box 5 of 1099-R is for health insurance premiums and enters on 1040 Line 16b properly (see attached) for PSO credit.  No option for entering additional premiums deducted from pension such as long term care.  Program indicates should not adjust Line 16b manually.  Any guidance?  Should TT not allow entry of these additional amounts up to $3000 in step by step?

After you enter the premiums as you show above, TT will make the adjustment on line 16 of form 1040. The amount from box 1 (or 2a), of the 1099-R, will show on line 16a of 1040 and $2046 less on line 16b, with the notation "PSO".

TT did reduce 16b by $2046.  I have the full $3000 when adding in additional premiums though.  That is my issue; how to claim other premiums paid from pension when TT only asking to confirm the $2046 from Box 5 of 1099-R.  Appreciate the assistance.

Found solution.  Go to 1040 form and click on box 16b.  Will not permit change but another click takes you to 1099-R worksheet.  Scroll down to last entry under Insurance which references total qualified insurance premiums paid subtracted from an eligible retired public safety officer's distribution.  Enter total amount of eligible premiums there.  Line 16b of 1040 will properly apply the credit for the amount entered.
