For the "Student Info Worksheet: Question 6. Convicted of felony?"- what is the difference between the answer "felony conviction no" versus "felony conviction N/A"?

The question is only applicable to the American Opportunity Credit - not the Lifetime Learning Credit.  (You can't claim the AOC if you have a controlled substance felony conviction).

So, if you know that you are claiming the Lifetime Learning Credit, then you don't get prompted or have to answer that question to claim the credit - hence, the "N/A"
