I've gotten to the Deductions section of Turbo Tax and they are asking about my Roth Contributions. Do I enter the amount listed in Box 12 (AA) of my W-2? Or is that what my employer contributed? If it is indeed my contributions for the year, can I enter that amount as a deduction?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
No! Only enter it from your W2. That is not for IRA deductions and contributions. A 401K is not an IRA.
Is there somewhere else that I enter those numbers listed next to AA in Box 12?
No. Nowhere else. Just in box 12 when you enter the W2. Did you enter your W2? In box 12 you have a Code AA and an amount? Do you have anything else listed in box 12? Like if you have AA 23 that means for 2023 the year. Just ignore any “23” lines.
I figured out what "W" which was also in Box 12 meant. Thanks for your help.
