Here's my situation:
- My parents lived with me for 4 months (Jan-April) in 2024 where I fully supported them.
- They moved out of the country after ward and on their own.
- During that 4 months, they have insurance through the marketplace. But only my parents are covered there. My own family is covered through my work health insurance.
- My mom passed away in 2024.
Based on my situation above, my understanding is that they're not qualified as my dependent for 2024. So I'm not sure what I need to do with the 1095-A. Do I still report the form on my tax? If so, do I need to do anything different since they're not my dependent?

In my initial answer, I didn't realize that you were the recipient of the 1095-A. Since you are the recipient and have values in columns A, B, and C, you will have to enter the 1095-A to complete your Premium Tax Credit Form 8962 and reconcile your Advanced Premium Tax Credit. If there are zeroes in any of the field, leave the spaces blank.
Refer to the TurboTax Help article Where do I enter my 1095-A? for navigation instructions.
If you have received an Advanced Premium Tax Credit, you will more than likely have to repay it. Review the IRS Premium Tax Credit instructions for further clarification.

Since your parents weren't your dependents, you won't enter Form 1095-A on your tax return.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Hi Sharon,
I just want to be clear, even if the recipient of the 1095A is under my name?
Adding more context on this. I do have value in Part 3 for column A, B & C from January - April of the 1095A.
I saw a similar case here: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-credits-deductions/discussion/1095-a-for-child-on-parents-1095..., and the recommendation was for the parents (me in my case) to report it. Is it because the parents in the case CAN claim the child, but chose not to? And in my case since I can't claim my parents as dependent, then I don't need to report it?
My parents won't be filing tax too as they don't have any income.

Thank you @SharonD007 !
I misunderstood the dependent clause earlier. I thought your dependent has to live with you for the full year, but for parents they can be away from you as long as you are still supporting them. So I can claim them as dependent for the tax year and makes the 1095A reporting more straightforward.
