Do I have to claim social security benefits as my income if I'm just representative payee??
The benefits are for my daughter because her dad passed away but paid to me because she's a minor.

At the end of the year in January you wil get a SSA-1099 form for it. If it has her ssn on it then you do not report it. It would only go on her return if she has other income to report. If that is all she has she doesn't have to file and nobody reports it.
If it has your ssn on it then you do have to report it on your return. But it probably has her ssn.
