Tax Year Prior to 2020: If I am under a up to 60 day chosen review .will it take the whole 60 days or is it resolved sometimes sooner ?

For 2018, consider changing your withholding so that you do not have to wait for a refund at tax time.

I've noticed some of you have stated that your where's my refund updated and I'm wondering when did your review begin? Mine has been dated for March 19th

I filed January 25th put on review March 8th and 60days was up May 8th & I called and was told I was still under review and would have to wait an additional 60 days to hear from the review department setting me back to July 8th. I was going to order the transcripts but wasn’t sure if it’s a return or account transcript I would order. Can someone please help me out. Thank you!

My story is similar to yours I filed on January 31st put on review March 1st and my 60 days was up may 1st I called and the same thing they told me I will have to wait an additional 60 days which puts me up to June 30th,its a powerless situtation that we are currently in,waiting is all we can basically do now.The Tax Advocates will only help if you have Financial hardships that you have to prove,and if you qualify I heard there is a waiting list for that as well.

It’s so frustrating and at this point I waited so long I don’t feel that the tax advocates would really be of any help. Thank you I guess it’s just the waiting game pretty much. Also have you heard about the irs having to pay interest after 45 days I’m not sure if it’s true or not

Thank you I will keep checking. What is this thing about the transcripts and codes I read about ? What do they mean? I just ordered mine to be delivered and not sure what I would be looking for

If my review starts  March 19 my review date should be may 19? When I called the representative said my review will over May 16
