Social Security mailed those in January . If you cannot locate yours, there is a way to go on the Social Security website and request one. Go to www.ssa.gov You have to create an account with a user name and password.

While you might not even have to file if all of your income is from Social Security, if you have other income, like a pension or distributions from an IRA, then up to 85% of your Social Security may become taxable, and we won't know until you enter the SSA-1099.
