Are dividends from mutual funds taxable?

Yes, they are. Mutual fund capital gain and dividend distributions are taxable, both when reinvested and paid out in cash, for the year in which they are received. 

  • If the amount was $10 or more, you should have received Form 1099-DIV.
  • To enter your 1099-DIV, click here.
