Adopted 2 yr old who is eligible for SS benefits due, death of unmarried mother - I'm on Social Security. Is her Social Security benefits taxable when filing my taxes?

Are Social Security retro-active back to time of death of mother - Was not aware she was eligible until visiting Social Security to change name on her Social Security^

No you do not include her Social Security on your return.  It has her ssn on it right?  If that is the only income she has it is not taxable and nobody reports it.
