2025 Social Security Tax Isse

I am just putting this out there because Turbo Tax does not make it easy to leave feedback. There is a question under social security income that defaults to yes you lived in a foreign country. That then makes your social security income not taxable. This is really disappointing and clearly the IRS knows this is an issue because they are catching it when the returns are submitted.

After you enter your SSA1099 the very next screen is the one that ASKS you if you lived in certain foreign countries in 2025.  If you skipped past that screen without clicking NO or if you answered incorrectly, then your Social Security was not taxed correctly.  The IRS is catching these user errors and adjusting refunds accordingly.
