Previously, for many years, I had been using Turbo Tax Desktop. This year because I have not yet switched to Windows 11 and the fact that my financial situation has deteriorated dramatically, I moved to Turbo Tax Online.
I logged in and imported my 2024 tax file. Then I started entering my incomes. I have all of my 2025 numbers thanks to Quick Books Reports.
When I got to the Social Security Form SSA-1099, it wouldn’t open. I tried to use another browser then cleared all of the caches and nothing helped. I cleared all of the information and started all over again. Finally, I went to the TT User group and I find out that this is a common problem in quite a few years past TT Online iterations.
This problem should have been addressed years ago.
Turbo Tax, you wasted hours of my time with this issue and I will be moving to another OnLine Tax vendor this year.

The reality is that all tax programs are not robust until mid January and even after that there are continual updates. This year is particularly challenging due to the changes in tax laws.
I guess I should have posted the fix for this problem. In Online, go to the tax tools on the left margin, select Tools then delete form and remove the Social Security Form.
I was a little hasty with my threat to leave TT. I will fumble along with it but it irritates me that the problem appears to be carried over for quite a few iterations of OnLine and not been addressed.
Still...I'm wondering what the problem is for you
I entered SS info from a (supposed) SSA-1099 in the "Online" software a couple of days ago.
No problems whatsoever.

Or is your issue one where you don't see where to enter your SS income information?
That's an entirely different problem that some folks have where they don't understand how to expand the menu to see all the income choices.
(yeah..."Online" presents a learning curve for navigation problems, and if on the phone "App", it's even worse.)
ohhh, a delete and restart of the SSA-1099 from scratch?
Maybe transferring in data/forms from a desktop 2024 file is causing a problem that doesn't happen for me if I used "Online" for last year?
The problem stems from importing your TT Desktop previous years tax files into the new year TT online program as been confirmed by previous years posts regarding this problem.
