1099-R Form doesn't have box 10-16. How do I fill this out

I received a 1099-R from a Pensions/Annuities/Retirement firm. The form only includes Boxes 1-9b on the document, there isn't anything else, yet Turbo Tax is prompting me to enter boxes 10-16 (as applicable). Contacted the issuing firm and they said they couldn't advise on tax issues.

If boxes 10 to 16 are blank on your form 1099-R, this means that these boxes are not applicable to your 1099-R. Not all boxes are filled on form 1099-R. Just leave them blank on the TurboTax input screen.

Thanks @MinhT1  - but the form doesn't include the boxes 10-16. It isn't a question of if they are blank or not, they just don't exist

If they are not on the form then they are obviously   NOT needed  by the issuer   and  thus you have nothing to enter in the program.   If you want to discuss why there are no boxes 10-16 on the 1099-R form you got  then ask the issuer why they did not include the totally unneeded boxes.

If the boxes do not exist on your form 1099-R, this means that they do not apply to you.

Sounds like you are using a 1099-R form that you used last year....(in Online software only) there is a prep issue with re-used forms.

____________

IF your 1099-R form carried over from last year...then there is an annoying problem with the reused 1099-R form that carried over...requiring you to check/uncheck EVERY X-box, or do something with EVERY box number.

Easiest fix is to scroll to the bottom of the page and click <Back>

Then on the prior page click on <Continue>

That should clear out all the unnecessary stuff and allow you to continue on without entering something everywhere....BUT...if you "X"ed a box that isn't supposed to be...make sure you un'"X" it.

IF you do not do the above clear-out, you may see the following
