Welcome back community members! And if you're here for the first time just know we are happy to have you. In our past #CommunityChatter installment we had a "This or That" discussion on whether you're a spender or a saver. This week we have something a little different for you all.
While women are imaginative, creative and innovative entrepreneurs, they endure biases in business and must overcome setbacks daily. Women-owned businesses are problem-solving while focusing on wellbeing, sustainability, and community. This means that we can find a woman-owned business that serves you and your needs while also helping your community. There is something for everyone.
A recent study by Intuit Quickbooks has shown that both men- and women-owned businesses have an equal appetite for growth and retention. However, history has shown that women have generally either struggled to retain bank loans to fund their businesses OR they are more likely to tap into personal funds in order to get their businesses off the ground, when compared to male entrepreneurs.
Since March is Women's History Month, we are asking our members to positively impact women-owned businesses. This can start by having you, our members, share in the comment section what your favorite women-owned business is. We would also love to hear what specifically sets that business apart from others. We will have our community team share some of their favorite businesses as well.
Looking forward to reading your responses!

I have so many creative and entrepreneurial women in my life so I'm glad we have the platform to share their businesses! An old roommate of mine, Adela, has some amazing artwork and even illustrated a book recently!
This is my amazing sister and also an incredible woman who has overcome so much to succeed in a mostly male dominated profession
My local yarn shop, Birdhouse Yarn, is owned by Holly Harper. It's a cozy shop that sells yarn but also offers classes, has knitting/crocheting nights and brings people together over a shared love of fiber arts.
