Turbo tax is incorrectly separating my income for my partial-residence filling. My military income was the only income I received in MN and is exempt. Turbo says I owe

I would like to know if there is a way I can manually enter the correct information?

Make sure that your residence information is correctly entered in the personal information section.  This can be verified by clicking on and editing the My Info section in TurboTax (it is on the left side pane).    Your state of residence should be your home of record.  Read those screens carefully.  If you move because of a PCS, you are not a resident of the state that you are stationed in.  If your home of record is not MN, and your only income is military pay, you are not required to file a return there.

Military personnel are generally only required to file in their state of legal residence (usually their home of record).  You would only be required to file a nonresident return in a state where you where stationed if you earned civilian pay.  For more information on state filing, see the link below and thank you for your service!
