Should i use box csa1099r for military pay?
You may need to explain what you are talking about.
1) Military "Retirement" $$ is just a plain 1099-R. A military retirement 1099-R comes from DFAS
2) Civilian, US Govt retirement is a CSA-1099-R (might include some credit for having been in the military, but it's still for civilian work).
3) Military "Pay" from actual current military service (or last year's service) is on a W-2.
