State Filing (Illinois) Active Duty

I'm active duty military with home of record as Illinois, but stationed out of state.  IL doesn't tax military income, but I would like to confirm I owe IL taxes on any investment income, i.e. USAA mutual funds.

State Filing (Illinois) Active Duty

You are correct.  You are only exempt from military pay for duty in the armed forces, as a cadet, or for duty while serving.

Please note your information will flow in from your input on the federal return.

Attached is additional information for your reference.  Thank you so much for your service.
