I am stationed in NC, and my state of residency and home of record are Texas. My W2 has TX marked in Box 15. The Employers State ID Number for Box 15 is blank. This comes up as an error. Box 16 has the same number that was in Box 1 as my wages. Box 17 is 0.00 for State Income Tax. I have read many different post. Some say to just delete all the information and leave it blank. Another says to enter the EIN from line b or 999999999.. How should I fix this?

TX does not have an income tax. Leave boxes 15,16, & 17 BLANK, empty, no spaces.
Texas does not have a state income tax so on the TurboTax W-2 leave boxes 15 thru 20 blank (empty)
If the program keeps giving you an error then delete the W-2 and re-enter manually.
