Why would I fill out Form 8949 vs Qualified Dividends Capital Gain Tax Worksheet? What is the difference? How do I ensure I’m paying long-term capital gains tax?

I sold some mutual fund shares and received 1099-B. Some gains are long term and some are short term.

the qualified dividend and capital gain worksheet is automatically calculated from amounts entered on other input forms such as capital gains (8949 input)  and dividends (1099-DIV).

it's the 8949 form that you fill out to enter capital gains. the 1099-DIV is filled out to enter your dividend income
