You would include your travel expenses to visit your rental property as part of your Rental Income and Expenses for that property.
If you visited more than one property, you can either divide the total travel expenses among the properties or include it on a single one.
Using TurboTax Premier CD/downloaded version, when you are in the section entering your Rental Income and Expenses, you will find a category of expenses labeled Expenses. This section includes a specific box to enter travel expenses. The comment by that box that says “not auto” is referring to Auto Expenses you incur using your own car (not a rental). Those are entered in a different section. Click on the thumbnail pictures below for a visual reference.
Use the following steps to jump directly to the Rental Income and Expenses section of your return. You will then need to Edit a particular property that you have entered in order to see the categories of expenses you can enter.
