Where do I claim loss on stock investment?
If it's a loss carryforward,
To input a capital loss:
Go to Income.
Select I'll choose what I work on.
Go down to Investment Income.
Click Start or Update by Capital Loss Carryover.
To enter a stock sale for this year in Turbo Tax:
Go to Income.
Select I'll choose what I work on.
Go down to Investment Income.
Click Start or Update by Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other.
The screens will walk you through it. A Schedule D will be generated, and your loss will be on line 13 of Form 1040.
To check,
Go to My Account.
Go to Tools.
Go to View Tax Summary.
Go to Preview my 1040.
