What to do when we own more tax than the amount submitted in Form1040-ES last year due to our short-term capital gain in Nov.2021?

My husband and I used Turbotax Premier to file our tax last year and it automatically generated four Form 1040-ES payment vouchers for us probably due to the stocks we were holding. We have paid for three of the payments online before each quarter deadlines this year. However, we made a large amount of short-term capital gain in Nov. 2021, so when we run the numbers using Turbotax estimation calculator, we found that we own much more than the amount in the 4th voucher. What should we do with it before the last deadline on Jan.18, 2022? Do we need to submit another form? Can we just make the pay more than the 4th voucher online?

Yes you can pay more.  Either online or write in a new amount on the 1040 ES.   Or pay it on your 2021 tax return when you file.

If I pay online, do I need to file another form for that to correct the Form 1040-ES that filed before?

No.  The 1040ES didn't get send to the IRS so they are not expecting it.  Actually the 1040ES are optional to pay.

If your 2021 form 1040-ES estimates were based on the 100% (110% for high earners) of last years tax rule, you do not need increase your 4th quarter payment. You can wait and pay when you file (or April 15) . There will be no penalty.

however, if you had withholding in 2020 your estimates were based on the same withholding for 2021. so if the withholding is the same or more just pay the 4th quarter estimate as is. if withholding is less then there could be a penalty.
