Same here. Couldn’t import Wells Fargo information last year using TT Home and Business download version. Same again this year. Have been trying most of the day with no luck. Has anyone found a solution?
I think it is WF, I imported from 2 other institutions with no problem.
I
Yesterday all I got was invalid username or password when trying to import from Wells Fargo Advisors. Change password still nothing. Today, I tried Wells Fargo Bank and one account showed up, I selected it and instead of importing it dumped me out. I could only see one account and I have several. Tried both portals multiple times with the same result.
I am, as usual, having trouble too. Apparently Wells fargo is using some version of two step verification on their imports. I do not use 2 step verifiication (2SV) in my normal login's with the bank. Therefore I have no way to get a verification code.
To make matters worse, I use bitwarden Pasword manager with complex passwords. Turbotax has no connection to bitwarden. However, I can go into bitwarden and copy my password and then go paste it somewher else. However, not into the password slot in turbotax because turbotax blocks copy/paste in that box. They make you type it blind and if you make an error, too bad. Type the 25 character password again and hope you don't typo again.
Is there any way around ANY of these barriers? TurboTax.... are you listening????

The imports are available now. 2-17-2023. Just got mine today after waiting since Jan.
Indeed they are. Turns out that Wells Fargo Advisors works and Wells Fargo Bank does not. For me, that's all I needed. Thx for the info. TurboTax if u r listning, my comments about imports and password handling still apply.
I was one of the people that started this blog stream last year when Wells Fargo Advisors had issues getting their statements to import into Turbo Tax.
As you’ve all found out, this is not an issue this year. I just successfully imported all four of my statements into TurboTax within seconds. For those that don’t know, these statements are not available until the middle of February every year (they do not have to legally have them ready before then). Again, they did a great job this year with their technology.
No one should have any problems with the Wells Fargo Advisor import now.
Are there any 2023 issues. This is an old post. Does this problem happen every year?? My problem is current.
I don't know about every year but it's happening to me now. I can't upload my tax info from Wells Fargo Advisors. Keep getting a 'The user cannot signon because he or she entered an invalid user ID or password'.
Checked on the WF Advisors website and user id and password are good.
Frustrating
Same for me for about 2 days. I eventually got it to work. Several people said to change your password so that it doesbn't have any special characters and then several responses said that didn't work. I turned off two level authentication and it didn't work. Then change password as dicussed and it worked fine.
I just tried... Wells Fargo Bank does NOT work. Any resolution?
none that I have heard of. I got all the info I needed from wells fargo advisors, where my account manager does business
I just changed my WFA password by removing special characters, I was able to log into WF Advisors and download my brokerage data.
Yes, I am having same problem. I am able to sign onto my WF account with no problem. I went ahead and changed password just to see if that would work. Same problem.
I found the issue to be that TT does not accept any "special characters" except the @ and ! characters. Even though you may be able to log into your Wells Fargo Advisors account with other characters in the password, they will not work in TT.
I changed my password accordingly and import worked perfectly.
It would be nice if TT mentioned that in their section to call Wells Fargo Advisors if you are having password problems.
