I own a vacation rental in a resort. I rent it on a weekly basis. Renters come there in order to play golf, swim in the pool, play pickleball, etc. But these amenities do not come free — I, the landlord, need to pay a monthly sports club fee. Will the IRS allow me to deduct the cost of the sports club on my Schedule E?

Yes, you are allowed to deduct the monthly sports club fee that you pay to allow your renters to enjoy the amenities. Don't include the sports club costs when and if the vacation rental was used for personal use. Include this expense as Other miscellaneous expense.
Thank you!
