My apartment has 6 characters, in the format building-unit (12-345). Turbo tax says California only allows five digits apartment code so it makes it 12-34. What do I do?

The California tax return will only allow a five digit apartment number- go back to Personal Info and enter the apartment number on the same line as the street address (for example, 100 Main St. Apt 12-494).

Thanks for your response.
Doesn't that invalidate the address? It will be like apartment number 12345, which is not a physical/mailing (USPS) address. Not sure what tax agencies do with this address, but shouldn't it match the address database?

I looked up the CA FTB efile requirements, and they do only allow 5 digits, and I can see how omitting the dash would make it next to impossible for the USPS to find the building/unit.  I tried the entry as above and it seemed to work.

Entering the apartment number on the same line as the street address seems to have done the trick. The error has gone away. Thanks!
