Seems like there is a bug in something in the code. When I add expenses into my rental property, it causes my taxes to go up not down.

It's an expense that makes me less profit so I should have fewer taxes, not more.

Seems like there is a bug in something in the code. When I add expenses into my rental property, it causes my taxes to go up not down.

This may be due to the way EIC is calculated (on a bell curve, using both earned income and AGI).

You are required to claim your expenses, though.
