Where do I enter my information on paying rent for 2016?

Renters cannot deduct rent payments for federal tax purposes, unfortunately.

Only if you have a home-based business or are required to work from home by your employer - you can deduct portion of the rent as home office expenses See the link for home office deduction:https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901224-can-i-take-the-home-office-deduction

Some states allow renter's credit, be sure to go through your state questions if your state allows it.
