Why does TurboTax keep defaulting my rental income to rental and royalty? I can't get past it to file my return.

Rental Property income is reported in the Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E) of the Income & Expenses Section. You will see the income on your Schedule E - Supplemental Income and Loss.
For more information, refer to the TurboTax Help article Where do I enter income and expenses from a rental property?
Can you provide more information on why you can't get past Rental and Royalty income? Is it looping or giving you an error?
It consistently gives me an error when I review my return. It tells me that Rents and Royalties have to be separate. I have no royalties. I click the button to make it rental but when I review it, it has switched to Rental and Royalty.
Was this income from Form 1099-MISC? If so, try deleting the entry under Income from 1099-MISC and entering it again under the rental property.
This income was not from a 1099-Misc. It is just the rent I receive from my tenant. I'm trying to file and it keeps telling me that it's royalty property.
If you are using a desktop version of TurboTax, go to the Schedule E Rental Property and Royalties section of your return. Then edit the property that you have entered. Next, edit the Property Profile. The first question that is asked about the property is whether it is a rental or a royalty. Make sure you have checked the correct box.
If you are using TurboTax Online and the property is shown as a royalty, then you may need to delete it and start that section fresh.
