Refrigerator purchase less than $2500, goes under section 179 or expenses?

Hi, I'm really confused about this particular filling for this expense. So I have a rental home, its being rented 100% of the time. The fridge broke and we purchased a new fridge for $620 in 2018. I've read since purchasing a fridge goes under improvement and that it needs to be depreciated over time. However, section 179 deduction which allows 100% expenses came up, I read somewhere in the chat here, that it is NOT eligible for rentals. I then encounter that if less than $2,500, you can place it it in rental expenses instead. Im so confused. If someone could clarify that would be wonderful.
