You can look under
Wages & Income
Investment Income
Capital Loss Carryover
If the loss from 2023 is not listed, you can enter that information here
You should also have a carryover worksheet in with your 2023 documents
TurboTax "Here's what we have" page shows correct carry-over numbers from 2023 Tax Return.
The next page, "Here are your capital loss carryover amounts" shows "$0.00" entries for "Capital loss carryover from 2023", "All capital losses used in 2024" and "Remaining losses carried forward to 2025".
This page does not allow me to manually input correct numbers in any of these data fields.
Is there a way where I can directly input the numbers into tax return forms?
Use the information in the following TurboTax help article to go to the page where you can manually enter your loss carryover amounts:
How do I enter my capital loss carryover?
Referenced page does not allow me to enter correct data
For a capital loss carryover -
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
Under Investment Income
On Capital Loss Carryover, click the start or update button
I am using T/T Premium online version.
There is no option for "I'll choose what I want to work on"
Where do we go from here???
Click on Federal>Wages & Income>Investments and Savings>Capital Loss Carryover
My software does not show pages "Federal>Wages & Income>Investments and Savings>Capital Loss Carryover"
Capital losses are entered into database, but do not roll over to 2024 tax return.
Can you give me a direct link to where I can manually enter the data?
