Do I need to enter rent paid to complete MN refund? I did not receive a certificate of rent paid from my landlord and do not qualify for renter's credit.

I am stuck trying to complete my MN taxes. I was never asked the question "Tell us your living situation". I specified that I do not qualify for renter's credit. Turbotax will not let me complete the filing without entering a Rent Paid amount.

I could do that. Does this number just not matter if I don't qualify? I paid 2 months of rent earlier this year.

No, the number does not matter if you do not qualify. You can delete the form if it continues preventing you from filing your return.
